I have the same problem, making update right now to update Kernel (to
2.6.24-8) i get no Direct Rendering with Nvidia (using nvidia-glx, but
i change to nvidia-glx-new and same happens)
$ uname -a
Linux n4shost 2.6.24-8-generic #1 SMP Thu Feb 14 20:13:27 UTC 2008 x86_64
GNU/Linux
