I'm not sure if I can help you there: I tried installing the latest Hardy versions of the compiz packages a couple days ago, but compiz kept segfaulting on startup for me (which I have filed as bug 192545). If and when that is fixed, I'll let you know whether or not this bug persists in the current Hardy version. If I recall correctly though, I was using a previous set of Hardy compiz packages before that and the bug did persist in those.
