I have a wireless one and a wired one.

My wireless network connects to my wireless router, and the DNS server
(from /etc/resolv.conf) is my wireless router (192.168.10.1)

My wired network connects to a cisco router, and when the connection is
established, my DNS servers (from /etc/resolv.conf) are my ISP's DNS
servers (68.1.208.245, 68.1.208.30)

This problem happens in both configuration.
This problem also happens when I boot with "single" kernel option, from text
mode in single user (root).

I just found out that even after I disable ipv6 by editing the
/etc/modprobe.d/aliases (from the link you gave), the module ipv6 is still
loaded.
I tried rmmod ipv6, and it says that it's in use.. (don't know who use it)

I timed "lynx www.slashdot.org" and I had to wait for 50 seconds before I get
the page up, which is very disturbing since slashdot is fast.
"lynx www.ubuntu.com" takes about 30 seconds

"lynx www.google.com" takes a split second though.

I can also say that this problem does NOT happen on Windows XP (on the same
machine and on a different machine), nor with Ubuntu Dapper Drake (running on a
different machine)
The Dapper Drake machine also has ipv6 module loaded, but "lynx
www.slashdot.org" takes about 1-2 seconds.
I also checked that my Dapper Drake machine has the same set of DNS servers
listed in /etc/resolv.conf (the ones from my ISP)

I'm not sure if it's DNS server problem. If it is, all my machines will be
affected. I only observe this on the Edgy beta installation, so I'm sure
there's a bug somewhere. The only question is where.. :-)
Any other ideas?
