I am having this problem using KPPP in Kubuntu Gutsy. It never dials and always says "NO CARRIER." Has this been "fixed" yet?
KInfoCenter says it is a Conexant D480 MDC V.9X modem. When I installed Gutsy, it asked me if I wanted to install a restricted driver for my modem and I said yes.
