I have also seen something similar a couple of times (really only a couple) on two different Kubuntu systems. The symptoms were the same (keyboard frozen but everything else working, logging out of X fixed things without having to otherwise restart the server). I do not use suspend, do use network manager for wireless and can't immediately think of anything else dangerous that might be installed.
The following line in Xorg.0.log.old was the only potentially relevant- looking one I could find: BOGUS LENGTH in write keyboard desc, expected 5288, got 5292 I will add the whole file here though. ** Attachment added: "Xorg log file" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/12179483/Xorg.0.log.old -- keyboard stops working until logout https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/184078 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
