Have you tried deleting your .openoffice.org2 configuration directory?

Just change the name and then launch Open Office and see if that fixes it.
Try something like:

cd
mv .openoffice.org2 .openoffice.org2.bak

then launch Open Office and see if the problem goes away.

Do you still have a problem after doing that?
