Problem description:
As soon as my eth0 network is disconnected, the vmplayer does not start. Sadly
I get not any error message on the console or anywhere.

As soon as I do one of the following, I get vmplayer to run:
* connect ethernet cable to eth0 device
* "sudo ifdown eth0"

So - I have a workaround. But this should not be needed. Or there should
be at least a suitable error message.

I tried several things like re-configuration of the vmnet devices with
the network setup script - but each time without any success.

Thanks,
Achim
