Thanks for your report, and sorry for the delay. It looks like you tried to install ubiquity 1.3.24 on an Edgy live CD, and it furthermore looks like you forced your way past some dependency warnings in the process (some of those warnings show up in the log). This is not supported and is probably the cause of your problem.
ubiquity/doc/README says: Similarly, there are at least the following issues with backporting Ubiquity from Ubuntu 7.04 to Ubuntu 6.10: * Ubiquity depends on a version of console-setup at least as new as the one in its own source tree, so the two packages would need to be backported together. The new version of console-setup in turn relies on a newer version of xkb-data (although probably not inextricably). * Ubiquity's GTK frontend now uses gtk.LinkButton, which isn't available in the versions of GTK+/PyGTK in Ubuntu 6.10. Similarly, you need a more recent version of glade-3 than is available in Ubuntu 6.10 to edit the user interface definition for the GTK frontend. * Regenerating Ubiquity's autotools files (configure et al) requires Automake 1.10, not available in Ubuntu 6.10. * Ubiquity's apport crash handler now requires a new Python API introduced in apport 0.33. Nowadays, you probably ought to simply run at least Ubuntu 7.04 if that's what you want. ** Changed in: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid -- Crash at Keyboard configuration https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/91231 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
