The combination of the "link fix" described above, and the fact that the desktop files are now actually *installed* (via dh_desktop) is an acceptable solution. Alternatively, one could remove the link again, and change the icon name in the two .desktop files. That would work also, but I don't think one solution is better than the other. Why not go with the fix that's already there?
