Yeah, I'd like to see that horizontal mirroring is turned on by default (or configurable). Though it would be less useful for other video streams like TV tuners. It's not a big deal to press Effects -> Mirror Horizontally to mirror the image, but it would be nice if Cheese would remember its effects settings, or have a configuration option to turn certain effects on at startup.
