Under gentoo I had a similar error with totem, Then I realized that totem (although I thought I compiled against gtk+2) It is revelaed that totem incorrectly using the old gtk+1 version. After completely removing deprecated glib and gtk+ packages, I had rebuilt the totem and all the problems against the gtk has seemed to be resolved. Because of Turkish has different capitalization for i and also there is an dotless i, this might cause the problem. ı -> I i -> İ)
