Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org
Just about every time I launch an OpenOffice app, I get a document recovery screen. This is almost invariably for a document that I was viewing when I shut down the OS, but *I wasn't even editing*. I never think that I should close OpenOffice before rebooting or shutting down. OO has acted this way ever since Breezy and it is still doing it in Gutsy. OO is annoying about it, too -- "Are you _sure_ you want to cancel document recovery?" Yes, d*mmit; I just want to get to work. If OO has to recover something (it doesn't in this case), maybe it could wait until the document in question is opened. Or maybe it should try to recover in the background and then compare the "recovered" document with what's already on disk, so it doesn't have to pester me if there are no changes. I have a similar problem with Firefox -- if I log out while it's still running, the process is killed and FF thinks it might need to resume when opened next time. ** Affects: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- ubuntu doesn't deal well with intentional shutdown https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/197754 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
