Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubiquity
I partitioned the USB HDD (scdb) and assigned each partition to its appropriate mounting point. When proceding, the application informed me it would reformat the sda4 partition, which was already the 'swap' partition - on the wrong device. I had already asked it to make a swap partition on sdb4. But what's the harm in reformating a swap partition? So I continue and it says there is an error because '/' is not assigned. It seems that has to do with the confusion of the two hard drives. I thought maybe if I make slightly different changes (like selecting the reformat checkbox for sdb4 [swap]) and confirm I am following the programs instructions, then the program might install to scdb. It did not work, and after some time I recieved an error message containing this: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/ubiquity", line 130, in ? install(sys.argv[1]) File "/usr/bin/ubiquity", line 55, in install ret = wizard.run() File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/ubiquity/frontend/gtkui.py", line 266, in run self.process_step() File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/ubiquity/frontend/gtkui.py", line 747, in process_step step = self.step_name(self.steps.get_current_page()) File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/ubiquity/frontend/gtkui.py", line 428, in step_name return self.steps.get_nth_page(step_index).get_name() AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'get_name' ** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: edit manual partition -- Does not allow installation via manual partition editing to scdb https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/198643 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
