The descriptions that are shown while starting a campaign can be found in the campaign's _main.cfg file at the path /usr/share/games/wesnoth/data/campaigns/<campaign_name>/_main.cfg
For example I found this for 'Tale of Two Brothers' ********* An evil mage is threatening the local village and its inhabitants. When their leader Bjarn sends for aid from his brother Arne, he is victorious, but Bjarn himself is kidnapped. Can you rescue him?
