Yes, I will try. But there's a couple of issue possible when I will upgrade the kernel. First of all, to make my Nvidia geforce 8400gs to work well, I had to install manually the drivers from the nvidia website cause the shipped drivers was incredibly slow. To do it, I had to remove 3 packages (linux-generic, linux-retricted-modules-2.6.24-8-generic and linux-restricted-modules-generic). So, when I upgrade the kernel, I had to reinstall the drivers to make X start. After, a lot of software stopped working (adept, network-manager-kde and many other). But to help, I will try again to reinstall the new kernel but I will have to make backup of some thing on the computer. Allow me a couple of hours and I will answer you if I was able to solve it).
