Leann, I have been testing Hardy since the first day it was released right up till the present. Sad to say it is no nearer to shutting down my laptop now than it ever has been.
What may be of interest to you though is that about a couple of months ago I started using another distribution and this is capable of shutting my laptop down. Admittedly it is not at all consistent, it is probably only successful about 15% of the time, but that is 15% more than any other distribution has ever achieved. The interesting thing from your point of view is that they are still using the 2.6.22 kernel. Although I am not really qualified enough to make such a judgement, I would say that this means the issue is not kernel related at all. Equally I am not knowledgeable enough to tell you why their product succeeds (sometimes) whilst Ubuntu doesn't (at all), I wish I was then I might be able to make it shut down all the time! -- Power down after shutdown does not work... https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/43961 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
