Public bug reported:

hi,

the displayconfig-gtk tool just doesn't work right at all on my Lenovo
Thinkpad R61 with the latest Hardy updates. Unfortunately I've not
tried it before so don't know how well it worked previously.

It lists 3 screens, two entries for Screen 1, and one for Screen 2 (my
external monitor). The model names and resolutions are all wrong. The
graphics card list show two cards. The first one as "none" and the
second one as "vesa". Changing any of these and applying creates a
config that prevents X from starting up (goes into the rescue mode
thing).

I've attached some output from lshw and xrandr. I'm currently running
the laptop with an external monitor (with the internal one disabled).
This config was achieved with the xrandr cmdline tool.

This machine has a Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 graphics card.

ii displayconfig-gtk 0.3.7

John.
