I'm afraid the patch isn't released in 1.6.0.04 since I have installed the version 1.6.0.04 of JRE (java-6-sun), but I couldn't run any java application until applied the Matthew Wardrop's workaround. see here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sun-java6/+bug/86103
