Next time this occurs, can you try opening a terminal and issuing the
following command:
$sudo dhclient
And seeing if that corrects the problem. If not I'd be interested to
know if rebooting the wireless cable gateway works and the following
command:
$sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart
Also, have you ever seen the reverse of this where you start in Ubuntu
and try to boot into Windows with no networking?
