Only difference I see is the EIT data scan when run as a user.  Check that the
"mythtv" user is a member of whatever group that device is, and that the mythtv
user (not necessarily group) can write to your recordings location.  I dont see
the tell tale signs in that log of a permissions problem, but the symptoms fit 
it.
