I can now also confirm that this does not affect the normal FTP protocol in FileZilla. To reproduce a clean download:
1) Launch FileZilla 2) In the "Host" field, put in "ftp.mozilla.org" without the quotes or another site which allows anonymous FTP downloads 3) Grab one of the folders to queue up a lot of files 4) No GUI freezes occur during the download, as evidenced by there being no errors/freezes now 18 minutes into the download and having already completed 40+ files This leads my to think that it is specific to the interaction between FileZilla and SFTP, but I have no way of checking the other protocols. If you wanted to construct a bullet-proof testing environment, you would need two machines (one functioning as a client, one as a server) and a network connection between the two. Then you would have to install file-server packages on the one and FileZilla on the other. This would let you test in extremely controlled conditions to isolate the problem with the protocols. ** Changed in: filezilla (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- Filezilla goes inactive if not interacted with https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/193340 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
