Public bug reported:

Hardy 8.04 now ships with correct kernel module for my built-in webcam
(on 7.10, it would call for a hand job). So this is laptop installation
we are talking about. And it is just occurred to me that the first thing
for an average user to ask would be, "Hey, where's my web cam?"

Come to think of it, there is no application installed to use the
camera, and Ekiga is not that obvious. In fact, Ekiga wouldn't even come
to mind of a laptop user. Just to make it clear. When you purchase a
webcam for a regular PC, you naturaly expect to install drivers and
applications needed to use it. Whereas on a laptop, the webcam is
already there, and even a nice little button with camera logo to launch
ASUS Life Frame in my case (Asus Life Frame is an application similar to
Cheese, only that Cheese crashes on my machine for unknown reason).

As far as I know, Ubuntu comes with utility to autodetect laptop
installation early in the process. And it would be nice if in case of a
laptop plus a working driver for the webcam, Camorama or similar
application is installed.
