I also have this problem on Ubuntu Gutsy, with 2 DVD drives shown on my desktop, but it happened after I tried the method to solve "computer frozen" case with <CTRL>+<ALT>+F1, and I tried to use Slackware way to go back to the desktop "startx", but I forgot I was on Gnome lol. Then after I used <Ctrl>+<Alt>+<Delete> to reboot the laptop, this bug started to annoy me.
