Public bug reported: DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=8.04 DISTRIB_CODENAME=hardy DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu hardy (development branch)"
linux-image-2.6.24-12-generic: Installed: 2.6.24-12.19 Discovered tonight after an upgrade that the new kernel was missing all the sound driver files. So when I rebooted I could not find any sound device at all... I have provided the dpkg -L listings. The first is labeled 2.6.24-11-generic.txt which worked properly and contained all the necessary driver files. I have also attached 2.6.24-12-generic.txt which is the dpkg -L listing against the current kernel and if you compare the two you can see that apparently the new kernel did not have the sound modules built at kernel build time. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- 2.6.24-12-generic is missing sound modules https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/200425 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
