1. Keyboard brand: Apple Keyboard Model: MB110LL/A (wired usb) Within Ubuntu it is set to Generic 105-key, setting to Apple results in the same issue - kernel 2.6.24.11 this was not an issue keyshortcut worked properly under Generic 105-key.
