Hi, We are not in the M$ Windows world. No need to do the manual uninstall, install monkey business ;-)
First make sure that you first add the following line to /etc/apt/sources.list: deb http://apt.wicd.net <ubuntu version> extras where <ubuntu version> is your version of Ubuntu in lowercase (dapper, edgy, feisty, gutsy, hardy).
