Public bug reported:

Set-up:
-Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop
-Ubuntu Hardy Heron updated 11/03/2008 h19.00 GMT
-LaCie 300 Gb USB drive partioned 120Gb NTFS, 180Gb ext3

When I plug the USB drive, the partitions are mounted normally and
Nautilus automatically pops up to show the contents. Here the problems
start:

a) No "import photo" pop-up shows albeit there are lots of photos on the ext3
partiton. Minor annoyance, I never use it anyhow.
b) Nautilus shows up, tries to display the content of the partition but fails,
shows home instead. Alternatively it freezes everything and I am forced to shut
down drastically and reboot. Same if I try to open Nautilus manually, and I
cannot understand what makes it freeze rather than display home, it seems
random.

I am suggesting a Nautilus problem because from the CLI the drive is perfectly
accessible and works (I'm watching a movie from it right now). Everything else
seems fine (including the NTFS partition on the same USB drive) and with Gutsy
it worked flawlessly too.
Unfortunately either it doesn't crash or it completely locks everythng, so in
both cases there is no automatic information gathering to submit, nor do I know
where to look.

Please don't hesitate to contact me to require further details.
