Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
hi, Laptop = Sony Vaio SZ2m-b (Centrino Duo) until one or two weeks ago my laptop display was darkened when I unplugged ac and enlightened when I plugged it in again. This is not the case anymore and now I think it is the time to report the bug. When I now plug ac in or out there is still this popup showing, that GPM wants to dim, but after (un)plugging I have to manually dim the display using Fn+F5 or Fn+F6. Please note that due to having a small system I have not installed ubuntu-desktop, but acpi-support which should be enough. I have blacklistet sonypi, because it produces only errors in dmesg and GPM doesn't dim even with it inserted. I have only the successor sony-laptop loaded, and I am quite confused why Ubuntu wants to load both of them. Will GPM eventually use xbacklight? Besides the Fn-Keys this tool works well, too. ** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- G-P-M is unable to dim display anymore https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/201644 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
