Your patch doesn't apply anymore to current xine 1.1.11. I tried to apply it, but it seems the problem got fixed in a different way.
Could you please try the current hardy package? if that doesn't work as well, could you please try compiling 1.1.11 yourself? I can see if I can provide updated xine package in the motumedia PPA, if this would help you.
