Public bug reported:

I have a e3works Stylo model # CDN030101 that works partially as a
mouse, but lacks any sort of accuracy (looses tracking making tracing of
images useless) and has no pressure sensitivity (on or off, no in
between). I have tried variations of using the wacom and acecad drivers
in Xorg, but with no luck other than using it as a mouse. I am currently
using Ubuntu 7.10 with all the latest updates:

DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 7.10"

For what it is worth: using the acecad module and xorg driver, I can use
the wacdump program to report on the device. It reports absolutely
_100%_ accurate events ranging from X and Y locations to pressure. So
the the device driver in the kernel appears to be fine, but the xorg
driver appears to lack the ability to detect it. This is the dmesg line:

[ 37.690536] usbcore: registered new interface driver usb_acecad
[   37.690541]
/build/buildd/linux-source-2.6.22-2.6.22/drivers/input/tablet/acecad.c:
v3.2:USB Acecad Flair tablet driver
[ 4146.009651] usbcore: deregistering interface driver usb_acecad(**) Option
"Device" "/dev/input/by-id/usb-ACECAD_USB_Graphics_Tablet-mouse"

And in xorg it is reported as:

(**) Option "Device" "/dev/input/by-id/usb-ACECAD_USB_Graphics_Tablet-mouse"
(==) stylus report 85 points/s
(EE) stylus: unable to query/initialize hardware (not an ACECAD Tablet?).
(EE) PreInit returned NULL for "stylus"
(**) Option "Device" "/dev/input/by-id/usb-ACECAD_USB_Graphics_Tablet-mouse"
(==) cursor report 85 points/s
(EE) cursor: unable to query/initialize hardware (not an ACECAD Tablet?).
(EE) PreInit returned NULL for "cursor"
(**) Option "Device" "/dev/input/by-id/usb-ACECAD_USB_Graphics_Tablet-mouse"
(==) eraser report 85 points/s
(EE) eraser: unable to query/initialize hardware (not an ACECAD Tablet?).
(EE) PreInit returned NULL for "eraser"

The initial install did however use "wacom" drivers initially, but it
still only worked as a mouse. Any chance the wacom driver team would be
willing to take my tablet under its wings would be appreciated. :)
Thanks.
