lspci give me an error when I try to use the "w" flag, I did sudo
lspci -vnn > lspci.txt instead
also, I couldn't run lshal because the HAL package is not installed
and I have no way to install it.

I will attach files in a later message.  For now, I thought I'd record
my screen (as best I could) at the point where the boot process dies
