Creative Commons has a LiveContent project ( http://wiki.creativecommons.org/LiveContent ); this is dedicated to picking up good free content and disseminating it. There's good reason ( http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/4989/ ) to update some of the included content--maybe we could include some of what they do, like the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year (changing it every other release?), the most interesting free photos on Flickr, some free music from Jamuendo or Simuze.nl, and maybe something amusing from Make video.
