I just noticed something interesting. I use VirtualBox (1.5.6) for my
unavoidable WinXP activities, and suddenly noticed that I couldn't play
any Flash videos in Firefox. Just like before, it was playing a few
seconds and then stopping (with no sound whatsoever). After checking the
Audio settings in VirtualBox I saw it was set to ALSA; setting it to
PulseAudio solved it immediately.

No idea if it can cause crashes, but interesting nonetheless.
