Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools
In manual configuration, if you put the wireless network's ESSID (which contains blank spaces) without commas, the WPA-Key is not obtained correctly. For example, if the ESSID is "My Wireless Network" and the pass phrase is "mypassword" (without the commas), and you put it directly on the ESSID and pass phrase fields, the resulting wpa key is not obtained correctly. In order to get the correct wpa key and thus connect to the network, you must write the ESSID with the commas so it recognizes the full character string. I include an attachment with a screenshot showing an ESSID with blank spaces written with commas so the computer can connect to the network. I think this has an "easy" solution... ** Affects: gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- network manager manual configuration needs commas for ESSID with blank spaces https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/205136 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
