Same problem. Try to save after adding a menu bar to a VBox, and Monodevelop will crash. I thought the bug was related with the video driver (openchrome ) I had installed in my Desktop (there are some known bugs related to mono, gtk#, f-spot and P4M800-like VIA unichrome chipset), but it happens even if you use Monodevlop from Ubuntu 7.10 Live CD (which uses a vesa driver by default).
