I just did some tests with the live cd. If I try to boot with that beta cd and AC is plugged in and the battery is in the bay I can not boot. I get the errormessage described in the first post. If I try to boot with that beta cd and AC is plugged out and the notebook is running on battery booting is possible. Once the progessbar is displayed I can replug AC and Ubuntu is still booting.
