Public bug reported: I'm using Kubuntu edgy beta, to which I upgraded from dapper.
After usplash, the screen just goes blank until I press any key, after which I get tty1 instead of kdm. As soon as I press Ctrl+Alt+F7, kdm starts up just fine, but I do have to perform this step manually. Bug 64045 describes this problem on Toshiba laptops, but mine is an MSI S260.
