This has been resolved through the removal of the icedtea-java7 package from the archive. The icedtea-gcjwebplugin package, which links against openjdk-6 and replaces icedtea-java7-plugin, works correctly on 64-bit desktops.
However, the new plugin is not offered for install by the ubufox plugin manager, so some update is still required there in order to get java support by default. ** Changed in: icedtea-java7 (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Fix Released ** Also affects: ubufox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: ubufox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High Status: New => Confirmed Target: None => ubuntu-8.04 ** Changed in: firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid -- firefox 64-bit IcedTea java not working. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/177514 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
