Ok... I know what happened. While trying different screen configurations, I opened the Screen and Graphics tool, and by simply changing the refresh rate, it writes a modeline of [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the monitor and screen sections of the xorg.conf... to correct it, I had to change it to a specific monitor type (LCD 1680x1050) so it would change also the "Modelname" of the "Configured Monitor", being unable to change back to the Plug 'n' Play monitor, obviously because that monitor is no longer described in the xorg.conf due to the changes made by the Screens and Graphics utility itself. By simply restoring the original xorg.conf for dynamic configuration, the xserver works correctly again.
That Screens and Graphics utility is a mess for the current way in which xorg is being configured and used. -- [hardy] x-server falls back to low resolution https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/205548 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
