Public bug reported: I have found that on two of my computers which require the restricted nvidia driver for the nvidia NV11 [GeForce2 MX/MX 400] with a fresh install of ubuntu (this goes for gutsy and hardy), once the nvidia restricted drivers are installed windows borders are gone unless you disable desktop effects.
