Here is the information I was able to get from my laptop. First off when you log in there is an error that reads " Sorry, the program Jockey-GTK closed unexpectedly." It goes on to ask if I want to send the error. When I attempted to do that I could not get access to the nic card to make sure it had the proper IP address. So, I was unable to send that error. When I shut the lid after setting the power saving parameters and reopen it, there are nothing but multi colored lines and no desktop and no way to access it unless you restart the machine.
