„The decision is not that easy” is a lame excuse IMHO. Why exactly do they have „unstable” and „experimental” if not to test decisions. If everybody just cowardly rejects openal-soft, then I foresee the following: 1) OpenAL-soft upstream won't get enough attention, upstream won't maintain it anymore. 2) Linux won't stand a chance as a gaming platform, due to bad 3D sound libraries.
