Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubiquity
On an HP dv2000z laptop, I attempted to install the Hardy Beta x86_64 alongside WinXP on an 80GB drive. I manually partitioned the hd successfully, but the installer froze completely towards the end of the installation at "Removing Packages". After a hard shutdown, the computer refused to boot back to the BIOS screen, so I removed the primary battery for about 30 seconds. Then, it booted into a "grub>" terminal. I think WinXP partition is still on the hard drive someplace, but the GRUB installation must have gotten corrupted. This is scary. ** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Hardy Beta Installer Freezes at "Removing Packages" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/209142 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
