Maybe I did cut/paste from the hard drive to the flash and then
unplugged without dismounting. The ideal result would be that the files
were saved back to the hard drive, but it would be like 90% my own fault
if they weren't. Maybe Ubuntu should warn like Windows when you unplug
without dismounting. But that would be a feature request, not a bug
report.

So I am just not sure whether I have encountered a bug or not.
