Public bug reported: I have a system configured to mount /var/lib/mythtv/recordings from an lvm logical volume, my root disk and swap are not on lvm. This worked fine under gutsy, but since upgrading to hardy, the logical volume is not automatically activated and I drop to a single user shell because the mount fails to find the device. My fstab entry is:
/dev/vg00/mythtv /var/lib/mythtv/recordings ext3 defaults, errors =remount-ro 0 2 In order to continue the boot, I need to manually run 'lvchange -a y vg00/mythtv; mount -a'. As an experiment, I created a physical volume, volume group, and logical volume on a USB stick. When I plug this into my hardy system, lvscan show the logical volume as inactive. However, plugging it into a gutsy system automatically shows the volume as ACTIVE. Is this behavior expected? How am I supposed to get a logical volume automatically activated at boot on hardy? ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- lvm volume not automatically activated https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/209239 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
