Public bug reported:

Edgy's firefox build needs a lot more time to start than mozilla.org's.
Two examples of start/close-as-quickly-as-possible cycles (where
"firefox" is 1.99+2.0b2+dfsg-1ubuntu3, and "./firefox" is the official
2.0rc2):

$ time firefox

real    0m6.604s
user    0m4.892s
sys     0m0.336s

$ time ./firefox

real    0m3.157s
user    0m2.176s
sys     0m0.108s

In other words, Ubuntu's firefox needs twice as much time to start as
the official build. Clearly, something's very wrong here.

FYI, the official firefox is configured like this: --enable-
application=browser --enable-update-channel=release --enable-update-
packaging --enable-official-branding --disable-debug '--enable-
optimize=-Os -freorder-blocks -fno-reorder-functions -gstabs+'
--disable-tests --enable-default-toolkit=gtk2 --enable-xft --disable-
freetype2 --enable-svg --enable-canvas --enable-static --disable-shared
