Well, I thought that was the fix, but I'm still getting freezes in Gutsy as well as in Hardy. The exception handling mechanisms in Hardy are better than in the past so I'm sending up a new bug report (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-pilot/+bug/210221) with trace info from the exception handler that will hopefully help the developer track down and kill this bug before Hardy goes live.
