Ah, thanks for checking in console mode; so chances are good it's not X. To be certain - if you shut down X entirely (sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop) can you recreate the issue? If so, then it definitely rules out an X driver issue. If you can't reproduce it, then X may still be involved in some way.
In any case, it's sounding like you're thinking it should be explored from the ACPI issue, so I'll go ahead and refile it there. As far as information to collect, the next step for you would be to work through this page, which explains what files and info is required: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingACPI ** Changed in: acpi (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: xserver-xorg-video-intel => acpi Status: Triaged => Incomplete -- m1330 screen flicker https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/202247 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
