After this morning update (tried yesterday late in the evening and it did not work, so it is this morning) there is some consistent improvement:
-Plugging the HD it is recognized, mounted, and Nautilus manages to show the contents without crashing. -The partition name shown on the desktop icon is right but the address bar says partitonname__ with two underscores (one more than before) instead of just partitionname -'ls /media/' returns the following: cdrom cdrom0 ntfspatition ntfspartition_ ntfspartition__ ext3partition ext3partition_ ext3partition__ where only the entries with the double underscore are actually accessible, the ones with no underscore are shown as empty ('ls' does not return anything) and the ones with one underscore only are 'access denied' (even as root). Needless to say that there are just two partitions on the disk and they are the ones without underscores. -- nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in free() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/201493 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
