Public bug reported:
I'm using edgy (latest updates as of now) and am using an openvpn
connetion configured via network manager's gnome applet.
When I tell it to connect, it does (the interface is brought up and I
can use it), but the notification-area icon no longer shows the little
padlock icon or the animation while it's connecting
